Bowling Team Continues to Find Success on the Lanes

The ALHS bowling teams continue to build on their momentum on the lanes, delivering a series of standout performances over the past few matches.
January 5, 2026
Var Boys
Avon Lake 2374- Black River 1724
Luke Slogar led the boys team with a high game of 258 and a 427 series, followed up by Jeffrey Toth with a high game of 226 and a 417 series.
JV Boys
Avon Lake 1555 – Black River 1312
The JV boys were led by Charles “CJ” John with a high game of 180 and a 308 series. Ethan Neuhoff also bowled well with a 291 series.
Var Girls
Black River 1417 – Avon Lake 820
The Avon Lake girls were led by Emily Ratzel with a high game of 158 and a 311 series.

January 7, 2026
Var Boys
Avon Lake 2412 – Firelands 2086
The boys' team was led by William Sindelar, who had a high game of 237 and a 453 series, followed by Cooper Poling with a 448 series.
JV Boys
Avon Lake 1700 – Firelands 1469
The JV boys were led by Charles “CJ” John with a 369 series, followed by Andrew Rollins, who rolled a 322 series.
Var Girls
Firelands 1478 – Avon Lake 383
The girls' team was led by Elise Hothan, who had a career high game of 106 and a 174 series. Ana Vatafu had a career-high game of 89 as well for the Shoregals.

January 10, 2026
Var Boys
Avon Lake 2476 – North Olmsted 2318
In a makeup match, the boys were led by Senior Jeffrey Toth, who had a high game of 269 and a 481 series, followed by Freshman Cooper Poling, who rolled a nice 446 series. Chris Richard had a season-high game of 245. The Varsity overall record is now 10-1 and an SWC conference record of 3-1.
JV Boys
North Olmsted 1649 – Avon Lake 1495
The JV Boys were led by Charles John with a 290 series, followed by Ethan Neuhoff, who had a 264 series. The JV record is now 8-3.
Var Girls
North Olmsted 2015 – Avon Lake 1003
The girls were led by Hailey Spears with a 300 series, followed by Emily Ratzel with a 278 series. The girls' overall record is 2-9, and they are 0-4 in the SWC conference.

Other exciting new…
During a practice last week, William Sindelar rolled a perfect 300 game.

In a pre-season North Shore Bowling Conference scholarship tournament that was held on November 16, 2025, the following bowlers earned scholarships:
William Sindelar finished in first place in his average division and earned a $300 scholarship
Cooper Poling finished in first place in his average division and earned a $300 scholarship
Emily Ratzel finished in 3rd place in her average division and earned a $50 scholarship

The bowling team's Senior Day is on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Spevock's Nautical Lanes. Start time will be following their match against Buckeye at approximately 5:45 pm.
