Shoregals fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 10-1 loss to Amherst Steele Comets on Wednesday. Amherst Steele Comets scored on a sacrifice fly by Lindsey Reavis in the first inning, a home run by Madison O’ Berg in the first inning, a double by Cassidy Kettleman in the second inning, a single by Reavis in the second inning, and a error in the second inning.
The Shoregals struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Amherst Steele Comets, giving up ten runs.
In the first inning, Amherst Steele Comets got their offense started when Reavis’s sac fly scored one run for Amherst Steele Comets.
Amherst Steele Comets scored four runs in the second inning. Kettleman, Reavis, and O’ Berg all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
O’ Berg pitched Amherst Steele Comets to victory. She surrendered one run on three hits over seven innings, striking out six and walking zero.
Kate Kastelic took the loss for Shoregals. She surrendered ten runs on seven hits over six innings, striking out three.
Mallory McClellan went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Shoregals in hits.
Reavis led Amherst Steele Comets with two hits in three at bats. Amherst Steele Comets didn’t commit a single error in the field. Abbey Vorhees had the most chances in the field with 11.
