JV Shoregals stayed in it until the end, but Padua Bruins pulled away late in a 9-8 victory on Saturday. The game was tied at seven with JV Shoregals batting in the top of the sixth when an error scored one run for JV Shoregals.
Despite the loss, JV Shoregals did collect ten hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Padua Bruins had ten hits on the way to victory.
JV Shoregals got things moving in the first inning. Mackenzie Anspaugh drove in three when Anspaugh doubled.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, Padua Bruins tied things up at eight when Padua Bruins scored one run on a stolen base.
JV Shoregals scored three runs in the fifth inning. Kayla Chester, Anspaugh, and Natalie Baker each drove in runs during the inning
Brooke Moore took the loss for JV Shoregals. The righthander surrendered two runs on two hits over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking zero.
Chester started the game for JV Shoregals. Chester lasted five innings, allowing eight hits and seven runs while striking out seven
JV Shoregals racked up ten hits in the game. Chester, Anspaugh, and Moore each collected multiple hits for JV Shoregals. Moore, Anspaugh, and Chester all had two hits to lead JV Shoregals.
