Tonight you Shoremen men’s soccer teamed traveled to #2 Strongsville for the District Semi Finals. The game started out with both teams trying to figure things out. The Shoremen scored first from Drew DelGiudice who sends it past the keeper to put the Shoremen up 1-0 with 19 minutes left in the first half!!
Assisted by Spencer Chippi. The Shoremen started to settle down and gain more confidence as the half went out. The defense kept a very talented Strongsville team team at bay. The Shoremen struck again. Drew DelGiudice struck a shot and it went bar down just left of the goalie to make the score 2-0 Avon Lake heading into the half assisted by Nate Summerfield!
The second half did not start how the Shoremen wanted it to. The Mustang’s got a goal back 4 min into the second half to make it 2-1 in favor of the Shoremen.
The game would get tighter for both teams as both teams had their chances. But the Avon Lake D held strong with some great goalkeeping fro Zach Glesius and the back line lead by senior Derek Stepak and defensive mid Josh Lawniczak! The final goal came from Danny Lambert who knocks down a strike from the top-left corner of the box to put Avon Lake up 3-1 with 10 minutes left. Drew DelGiudice with the assist.
That was the how the game ended 3-1 Shoremen.
Up next is the District Finals against Avon on Saturday at North Ridgeville at 4pm.
