The Avon Lake Shoremen Baseball got on the board in the first inning. The Shoremen scored one run when Griffin Lidyard singled. In the second inning, the Shoremen put up two more runs thanks to Logan Hamilton and Gage Duesler driving in a run each.
After that, it was all Berea-Midpark as they pulled away for good with four runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Mason Decker singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Kade Swisher doubled on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs, and Billy Campbell singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Campbell led the Berea-Midpark to victory on the hill. Campbell lasted five innings, allowing eight hits and three runs while striking out seven. Swisher threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Kevin McKinley took the loss for Avon Lake Shoremen Baseball Varsity. McKinley lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing seven walks, five hits, and six runs while striking out five.
Gage Duesler went 3-for-4 at the plate with a stolen base to lead the Avon Lake Shoremen.
Berea-Midpark tallied eight hits in the game. Joey Gormon and Swisher all managed multiple hits for Berea-Midpark.
The Shoremen are back at it on Wednesday at ALHS as they look to bounce back vs. Westlake.
