The Avon Lake Holiday Tournament kicked off today with the Shoremen taking on Shaker Heights JV in the afternoon game. The first period was played even before a deflected shot by Colin Reynolds broke the tie. Adding another by Justin Share about a minute later gave the Shoremen the 2-0 lead after one.

A back and forth second period saw both teams on the power play but nobody could find a goal. Tommy Kacmarcik came out quick in the third and scored 41 seconds into the period on a breakaway to extend Avon Lake’s lead to 3-0. Nick Ospelt and Kacmarcik added goals 37 seconds apart while goalie Dillon Aslaksen completed the shutout, his second of the season, to finish the game.

Avon Lake is back at it tonight at 7:40pm against Nordonia then take on Rocky River JV tomorrow at 2:10 to close out the tournament. The Shoremen are 10-6-2 overall and 6-2 in the league.
