Game Recap

In the final contest of the Benedictine Tournament, Avon Lake scored one goal in each period but were doubled up by Notre Dame Cathedral Latin in each frame and ultimately lost 6-3. Sophomore Cameron Stepka played a strong game for the Shoremen in goal, making 31 saves in the second start of her high school career.

Goaltender Keegan Sullivan dressed as a forward for the second consecutive game and again led the offense for Avon Lake. Sullivan had a goal and assisted on a first period tally by Patrick Graney. Jared Aslaksen continued his consistently good play by scoring a goal in four straight games. Seniors Corey McDevitt and Dom Barilla had assists, as did juniors Trevor White and Alex Kelly

Game Recap

The Shoremen took on their cross-town rival Avon in the Benedictine Tournament held at the Cleveland Heights Community Center. Avon got off to a quick start with three goals in the first period. The lead was ultimately insurmountable as Avon Lake fell 9-2. The Shoremen were down two defensemen, but got strong defensive games from Joey Kleinhenz and Hunter Hall to offset the depleted roster.

Avon Lake’s regular starting goalie Keegan Sullivan played forward in this contest and led the offense with one goal and one assist. Jared Aslaksen scored the other goal and extended his goal scoring streak to 3 games. Dylan Sammons played goalie for the Shoremen.. In only his third career start, Sammons was tested often, but turned away 39 shots from the Eagles.

In the second of four games in the Benedictine Tournament, the Shoremen hung tough with Parma High School before giving up two third period goals and losing 6-3.
The Shoremen were led offensively by sophomores Jared Aslaksen with two goals and Patrick Graney with one. Liam Mannion, Dom Barilla, and Alex Kelly were credited with assists. Avon Lake goalie Keegan Sullivan turned away 29 Parma shots.

After playing to a 1-1 tie after the first period, Benedictine High School scored 8 unanswered goals on their way to a 9-1 win over the Shoremen in the first game of the 2015 Benedictine Tournament. Jared Aslaksen scored the only goal for the Shoremen. Avon Lake’s Cameron Stepka registered 22 saves in her first ever regular season start of her high school career.

The Shoremen started their regular season off strong with a hard fought win over Nordonia 5-2 in our home opener at Rocky River’s Hamilton Ice Arena. It was a total team effort, but the Shoremen were led offensively by Jared Aslaksen with two goals and one assist. Patrick Graney and Alex Kelly both had a goal and assist, while Edgars York assisted on two tallies. Trevor White led a stingy defense in front of goaltender Keegan Sullivan who turned away 13 shots to get the win.
