Hello! We are looking forward to another great year of athletics! It is important that you stay up to date by following Learwood Sports on Twitter @learwoodsports and Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/Learwood-Middle-School-Athletics-123526242380079/). Also, check the athletic website for important Learwood athletic posts.Reminder that athletes cannot participate without an up-to-date physical (good for one year). Do not wait until the end of July to get a completed physical. We expect delays due to COVID-19. Please use the following link to find the 2020-2021 UPDATED physical form. https://avonlakesports.com/2020/06/11/2020-2021-physical-exam-form/There are five other forms that need filled out and turned in by the first day of participation. I highly recommend turning in paperwork and physicals prior to the first day of participation. Sometimes there are missing or incomplete documents and our coaches cannot let the athlete participate without everything completed.

Please DO NOT give us Pay to Participate checks. We will not be able to deposit them until the end of August. Once the fee is loaded into your student-athlete’s Powerschool account you can pay by check or online. Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience.

Learwood Fall Sports Parent Meeting  – **Changed to virtual as of 7/15. 

Tuesday, July 21st at 6:00pm-7:00pm Virtually

The parent meeting will be held virtually this year. On Tuesday, July 21st at 5:45pm a new post will be uploaded on the athletic website that will include a short video clip from Learwood’s athletic director, Kaitlin Leonard. As well as a link that you access to see and speak directly with the coaches of each sport. Coaches will start their presentations promptly at 6:00pm and will leave time for questions at the end.

Cheerleading Tryouts – For both Football and Basketball

*Camp days will be used to teach the athletes tryout cheers.

Football

7th Grade Football

Head Coach – Coach Lidyard   Assistants – Coach Hobar and Coach Butari

First day of practice is Monday, August 3rd from 3:30pm-5:30pm. Come prepared with tee-shirts, athletic shorts, cleats, and tennis shoes. Don’t forget water bottles! Cleats are not to be worn inside the building so please make sure to bring tennis shoes.

Practices will be Monday-Friday from 3:30pm-5:30pm. Games are usually played on Tuesdays but occasionally will be played on a Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday. More information will come from the coaches at the parent meeting.

8th Grade Football
